2003-05-06 12:02:00 | Hi guys. Just trying to gauge if anyone else has been as fortunate. I have an email account with Hotmail that I use for close friends etc and it has not received even a single spam message in over two years of being active!! Anyone else had the same luck?? Regards PF1 :-)

2003-05-06 12:12:00 | I have a good friend that apparently *never* gets spam to her account. I think that is because she doesn't not because she has blocked it all. What is your address just out of interest. Or could you post something similar. There is probably a reason such as an abundance of underscores or something.

2003-05-06 12:21:00 | Not rare. My Hotmail and messenger a/c are set to receive stuff from only our four kids. Was a bit silly until we made the change. | TonyF (246) | |
2003-05-06 12:31:00 | from 3 years ago up until mid-late last year, I had never recieved a piece of spam (my hotmail is the same as my name here on Pressf1 ;-)) I hadnt set the filters at all. I never EVER signed any forms or registrations or ANYTHING that I didnt really trust with it.... I was happy Now all of a sudden I get 12-13 pieces a day.... so I blackholed it with the super filter ;-) mwahahaha spam fgl

2003-05-06 12:39:00 | I have one that I set up for messenger and is almost spam free. I think its because my username (just_another_sheep, :-)) is longer than most making it less likely to be hit by a brute (trying every possible address) force spamming. | bmason (508) | |
2003-05-06 12:46:00 | I forgot, not opening any of them will also help. By attaching an ID code to the address of the images in the spam they can associate it with your email address, confirming the address is valid so they can send more spam.

2003-05-06 14:20:00 | If you send an email to someone who is on hotmail then does this make you more likely to get SPAM ? I have heard that 'they' traul for email addresses in such areas. :| | Misty (368) | |
2003-05-06 22:04:00 | its gotta be rare.. i have a hotmail acc which i never use...and it collects nearly 600 spams a week...its become a tradition to delete inbox every saturday night... it was my fault...first few emails..and me a novice at computers..open and ohh boring..gone..and they werent porno..and now..almost 99.9% of my emails are porno by the looks of the subject line... hmmm cant they put the spam addresses in a worldwide blocking list...i know they make more but yeah
