| 142066 | 2003-05-10 09:16:00 | I will but I'm sort of starting over. I have just upgraded from win98 to win 2k on my p4 grunt machine. & just reformatted my laptop p2 but still using win98. But I will get on to it because when something doesn't work I dig my heals in. & usually I win. |

| 142067 | 2003-05-10 22:07:00 | Well I spent some time trying to get my network going last night. first I could not find the right driver so I tried the the next model driver & found after I installed the driver the it was unable to install a particular file. No wonder I was sold the thing so cheap. When I was searching the net for the driver I came accross a few forums about the card I have, saying how people cold not install the the pesky thing. | 142070 | 2003-05-11 03:13:00 | Try an NE2000 driver. Most ethernet cards (at least used to :D) emulate the ne1000 because that "generic" card was designed for Netware, which was (is?) a very important network system. | Graham L (2) | ||
| 142071 | 2003-05-11 05:15:00 | Have you tried checking that both boxs are using the same speed and duplex settings? even without a share and both configured in device manager / network settings / tcp/ip and a cable attached i assume it should still be possible to ping between machines example ping 192.168.0.1 Try pinging the same machine as well which is like a loopback test. |
