141852 2003-05-06 22:43:00 I'm still having problems. Changing the language settings in Control Panel has no effect. (I've tried English/US keyboard, NZ English/US keyboard and US English/US keyboard to no avail.)

Does this mean that on a supposedly infinitely programmable keyboard I'm reduced to having to press <"> + <space> everytime I just want a <">? That's crap but there doesn't seem to be any answer. (Believe me, I've Googled extensively for this.) The only conclusion I can make therefore is to avoid Microsoft hardware. (Still, I suppose I should've known that...)

You probably have to select the one you do not have selected. For me in the Installed Services box it says:
EN English (United States)
Keyboard
.US

141855 2003-05-07 02:20:00 The International option lets you use things like the acute, grave, circumflex, etc accents on letters, by pressing the key for the accent, and then the letter it is to go over. If you're not doing that, you don't have to. Graham L (2)
141856 2003-05-07 06:31:00 In my settings I have:

Default input language: English (New Zealand) - US

and under Installed Services I have, in bold:

EN English (New Zealand)
Keyboard
US

I do not have a MS keyboard and neither do I have any problems with the " key. :-)

141857 2003-05-07 07:32:00 Have you tried trouble shooting from keyboard in control panel? cicero (1379)
141858 2003-05-07 08:03:00 Yes you can have the default input language as New Zealand, but for the keyboard to work properly it has to be set to US and made the default.

It should look like this:

EN English (New Zealand)
Keyboard
* US

Take note of the bold (that means default)

Try removing everything then start allover by adding that in.
Then reboot and it should be set!
