2003-05-07 09:35:00 | hi there every one i know this is off topic and know im not doing anything illegal. for uni we have (in a group) to make a poster up involving pictures, things that includes families, children, disabilities and culture. but we have been warned big time about copyright and this is where we come unstuck. we have been told that any pictures we want to use are copyrighted. regardless of where they com from. if they come out of magazines ( womans mags etc) that we need permission from the magazine. so we cannot use them. and now we cant source any others. does any one know of a source for free non copyrighted material that may contain these sort of pictures? all we need them for is a poster to hand to our lecturer, it will not be on show anywhere as far as i know. thanxs beetle

2003-05-07 09:50:00 | I think that in most cases when it comes to school work copyright is exempt. Though if the teacher is checking up on it it's a bit different I spose. | -=JM=- (16) | |

2003-05-07 10:28:00 | Just been down the same path. I needed some specific images for a report, but on every website I found them on they were covered by copyright. Found some on a NZ website that were taken by the website owner, rang, swapped e-mails and he gave full permission. The balance I took myself. Its very important when you are including them in a document that you sell, I don't wand a lawsuit.

2003-05-07 10:38:00 | so any other ideas? i dont need them for work or to sell so am stuck and we could always take photos but then we have to get permission to take photos, print and not show them at certain places and what are we going to do with the end photos, keep, archive or give to people? just for a lousy assignment, poster? these things are sent to try us beetle

2003-05-07 11:43:00 | Specifically what do you need images of? I have 101,000 different images in a collection that I have the license to use as I see fit as long as its not for commercial gain. Iain

Im nice, but Im not going to hunt through 10,000 images picture at a time and see if its suitable for your assignment. If you want to give me an email address Im sure we can work something out.
