| 141991 | 2003-05-07 03:19:00 | I have a compaq 1Ghz duron laptop and over the past few months it has has had a probelm wher it just hangs, no patten as to when or why or what i am doing. often it hangs when i am surfing and some times when i an not at the keyboard. I run the laptop for many hours a day running kazza and I was thinking it might be over heating?? any help would be nice. |

| 141993 | 2003-05-07 09:22:00 | have checked for spy-ware and found nothing. the system is running XP home and is a biut over a year old. the system run well untill a few months ago. (cant remember any changes that might have caused it.) when i say hang i mean that the system locks up and the mouse wont move the keyboard has no effect. could this be a kazza thing?? should i reinstall the OS?? |

| 141994 | 2003-05-08 23:09:00 | I also have a compaq laptop which freezes randomly. It has a Duron 1.3GHz and 384MB RAM. I have found numerous reports of these laptops freezing and the general opinion is that it is a heat problem. However, mine seems to hang occassionally when it is first turned on and isn't even warm. I have all the compaq updates and XP updates installed. My business partner and brother-in-law both have the same model of laptop and both experience random locking problems. I think it is a design fault and not spyware. I am still trying to find a solution, this has been going on for a number of months now, my laptop is almost a year old and may not live much longer if it doesn't perform better. ]:) | Sb0h (3744) | ||
