| 142170 | 2003-05-07 11:59:00 | Hi all. I was just at the Microsoft website and download Bliss (Screen Saver) using DAP and it connected to a site that keep trying to attck my computer with a Trojan! I cant remeber the site but I kept doing it over and over again (the warnings in Nortan kept poping up). Is this a microsoft thing or what! | JamesStewart (874) | ||

| 142172 | 2003-05-07 23:46:00 | I just downloaded and ran the screensaver, and followed with a Trojan scan of my machine, which comes up clean. In the half-hour or so since then, including using Word and MSIE, there has been no untoward behaviour. However, under DAP, a large number of download sites for Bliss come up, not all of which are associated with Microsoft. How easy would it be to infect a download by setting up a false site? How does DAP find download sites other than the primary one, and how does it check that they're 'clean'? May be a bit of a worry. Argus. |

I assume to give the impression your computer is constantly under attack from "hackers" and help encourage you to cough up for their latest/pro version . |
