| 142901 | 2003-05-10 13:00:00 | hi, just brought a pioneer dvd drive today and i have it in my computer. both the dvd drive and my old cd-r drive wouldnt play/read anything. when i click on "my computer" the drives arent listed. i cant install the dvd software as no drive is working. i have tried using "add new hardware" and "add new software" from the control panel and with no luck. it says the drivers are working properly??? | milo_milo2000 (3765) | ||
| 142902 | 2003-05-10 13:15:00 | Try removing (only temporarily) the IDE cable from the old CD-Rom drive, as I suspect they may be fighting for 'master' status. Post back with the results :-) You may just need to adjust the jumper on your CD-Rom drive :-) Hope this helps Chilling_Silence |
