| 142892 | 2003-05-13 06:50:00 | Oh Woe is Me!! After all my good intentions now I can't get the darned backup thing to work! Using the XP backup program wizard, all proceeds well through the setup windows ti the point where I am asked to press "Finish" to create the backup. Great so far, but then it turns to custard and I end up with an error report telling me that "Error returned while creating the volume shadow copy: 80042301. Aborting backup" This may as well be in Swahili for all the sense it makes to me. Please, please, Mike, Susan B, Godfather and all the others tell me what has gone wrong! |

| 142893 | 2003-05-14 02:36:00 | How big a backup is it? How much space is free on the "small" disk? Did you reformat it, and accidentally make a 2GB disk? :D | Graham L (2) | ||
| 142894 | 2003-05-14 06:43:00 | Hi Graham L. No I haven't reformatted the second drive. The backup I have been trying to do is still quite small, as an experiment only, and there is still a lot of free space on the disk, about 7G in fact. Maybe I should reformat and start again. It's this 'shadow' business that has me stumped. I don't know what it is trying to tell me, otherwise I may be able to clear the blockage. Cheers Richard |
