| 143317 | 2003-05-12 01:39:00 | I am having trouble with a Packard-Bell PC with Windows ME, and IE 6.0. IE works fine except that it will not display secure pages which use 128 bit security (eg: internet banking, hotmail). I have installed IE 6.0 from the PCWorld magazine, checked that SSL 1.0, 2.0 and 3.0 are enabled under internet options, manually set security settings to low... all to no avail! Netscape 7.0 on the same machine works fine on those pages. I wondered if it has something to do with American versions of ME? I thought installing IE 6.0 would sort it out. The splash screen says 128 bit encryption so I am stumped. | rayres (3772) | ||

| 143321 | 2003-05-13 00:34:00 | It says 128 bit - both in help and splash screen when IE is starting. However, I will try the solutions suggested in the Knowledge Base article - Thanks. Got to be worth a crack!! | rayres (3772) | ||

If you have a firewall such as Zonealarm installed check the settings. Note also some anti-virus programes also have firewalls integral with them. |
