| 143147 | 2003-05-11 11:48:00 | Getting a hotmail account will let you work around the problem, but wont let you solve the problem. Give your ISP a call and explain the problem, they should be able to check server records and find out whether his email is getting to your ISP's network or not, and if it is whats happening to it from there. I can think of several possible problems: If your reply-to address is incorrect, when he hits reply he will be replying to the wrong address -> In this case the email will never reach your ISP, or if it does it is sent to the wrong account. If you have inadvertantly set a mail rule such that messages from his address/domain are deleted from the server, then your ISP will have a record of the email arriving, but then being deleted, the same could be true if your ISP has blocked his domain for some reason. There is a network problem, and he is just REALLY unlucky and catches it when its down. Try having him send the email to someone else, then have them forward it on to your address. If there is some problem with the route the email is taking, this could show it up, although it is possible that the middleman ends up sending down the same route. But it will also verify that he has the address correct if he is the one to supply the address to the middleman. Iain |

| 143148 | 2003-05-11 12:18:00 | Thanks, guys. My Reply-to seems okay as I get the normal reply from other people. On Friday I typed my email address twice in the body of an email to him, once in lower case and once in upper case. Didn't know how to prevent OE turning it into a link, but I imagine he should be able to email me okay if he clicks on it or cuts and pastes. Will give him a few days to reply and if I don't get one, follow up your suggestions, Iain, re my ISP. Perhaps he needs a forum in France like PressF1 where people are so helpful! |

I signed up for a new account with hotmail a month ago and on the second day it had 40spams in the inbox. Not all dictionary attacks either. I also didn't sign up for anything when creating the account. |
