143615	2003-05-13 04:17:00	Hopefully someone will know the answer to this; I'm trying to set up a shared folder on my hard drive ,so invited friends over the internet can visit and gain access to files and documents ect for downloading to their pc, while my computer is running and I'm sleeping.... I'm using a program called www fileshare.,which allows you to specify which folder it'll let internet access to using a url,it looks a nifty little program much like using a ftp...if only I could get it to work !! My os is win xp prof. and the problem is this.....it wont allow access at all....I know the reason must be security settings but I cant find out exacty how to enable a particular folder,could someone tell me how to do this please. and what are port settings and where do I find them??? (I've right clicked on the actual folder name/properties and the only option there is to allow networked 'puters to access that folder) but doesnt mention network.
