| 143616 | 2003-05-13 03:41:00 | Program to create Sudden Death Rugby match draws We had 120 teams in 6 grades turn up to a recent 7 Aside tournament. We have 18 fields for them to compete on. After one friendly game, its sudden death , so only the winning team goes to the next round. The draw for the Friendly round to be different from the Sudden death round. Of the 18 fields, we want each grade to take the same ratio of fields as there are graded teams overall. Say we have 30 teams in 10th Grade out of 120 teams overall, the 10th Grade occupy 25% of the available fields. Finally, we want the Graded teams to play their games in the same range of fields through out the day. Eg, if 10th Grade play on fields 4-8 throughout the early matches, they remain on those fields for the remainder of the tournament. Well, now that you know the logic required, what program would be more suited to creating a Draw for these games, Excel or Access? Thanks ..John |
