143932 2003-05-14 01:17:00 Can someone tell me if Office 97 and/or Office 2000 will work with Windows XP.
Information required before deciding on software package for a new computer.

143935 2003-05-14 01:55:00 Yes both Office 97 and 2000 will work with XP, however there may be other incompatibilities involved with using Office 97 on an XP machine.

143936 2003-05-14 02:13:00 I have used both on an XP-based machine. I had some trouble with Word 97 with 128 Mb RAM, but adding more memory seemed to fix it. Bewildered (3777)
143937 2003-05-14 03:55:00 I use Office 97 with XP Pro with no problems at all.
Would like Office Xp but the cost is prohibitive for a home user.
Go for it. No worries

143938 2003-05-14 04:29:00 Likewise I use Office 97 on Windows XP on one PC and it behaves perfectly (well...as perfect as it does on Win 9x)

Office XP is a much improved product but its not cheap (unless you buy it with a PC as OEM)

143939 2003-05-14 05:38:00 I found problems using Office97 and XPpro, in that the ClipArt Gallery couldn't be opened by "limited" users.

Worked fine if you were an administrator
