143926 2003-05-14 01:23:00 Hi.

I am using Outlook at work and want to resolve the following.

Outlook is connected to a MS Exchange server. I want to take some personal folders and store them locally on the computer so they wont contribute to my allotted size, but still have access to them easily.

143927 2003-05-14 01:53:00 Hi Luke,

I can't give you the exact process of how to do this, as I haven't reinstalled outlook yet after my format the other day, but try just creating a new PST file (File > New) and have it stored on your machine... depending on the security settings at work this should do what you want (your work may have set it so that you can't access other PST files etc.

143928 2003-05-14 02:55:00 yeah have done that, but i think it still contributes to the size. does it automatically add to the PST if i drop a nother message into the folder? dergib (3557)
143929 2003-05-14 02:59:00 If you're moving the email from your Exchange mailbox to the PST on your computer then it shouldn't still contribute to the size of the mailbox, as it's completely seperate. But this will depend on the settings that your company has set up.
