| 144447 | 2003-05-15 11:22:00 | Oh, well, I'm pretty much in the dark, apart from reading the odd thing in the NZ Herald. Wonder if that'll mean I won't be disappointed if it's not as good as the trailers make it. | agent (30) | ||
| 144448 | 2003-05-15 12:08:00 | Dude - That thing TV3 just had on Nightline made it look like one movie I'll be seeing more than once @ the movies! | Chilling_Silently (228) | ||

| 144451 | 2003-05-15 22:33:00 | Report to be filed by 20:00 hours, please: is it as good as the first one or shall we save our money? No blow-by-blow disection of the plot though, thank you. Don't want to have the suspense spoilt. |

It goes on a bit and there's a few too many slow mos and a few too many predictable lines... A lot of great action sequences regarded.. but probably too many.. There were also sequences that probably shouldnt be watched at all hours of the morning - highly philosophical discussions etc Basically dont go into it with high expectations and you'll love it.. if you go in expecting ground breaking stuff, you'll come away feeling pretty unfulfilled...the abrupt ending kinda sucked too... It's a great movie, dont get me wrong, but where the first one left you with a lot to ponder, this movie is more of a story builder... |

Now, if you've heard that Agent Smith can now replicate himself, you'll probably know that this was done with some very high-tech systems. There's just a few problems with it though. I have to say, that, unless you were in a close-up shot of one of the many Agent Smiths, it looked rather like a game with DirectX 9.X quality graphics. This was due to the fact that, when you were seeing one Neo and about twenty (or even more than forty at times, I reckon) Agent Smiths, their skin looked rather... perfect. Too perfect. Absolutely no marks on it whatsoever, and the walls of buildings in the scene also looked rather game-like. Then there were the few occaisons where it looked like a Smith was overlapping another - yes, that's right, it looked rather like they went through each other. Off that gripe, and on to another - my personal opinion is that the film left the roots of the original slightly too much. I must admit, that with an explosion within the first minute of the actual movie itself, well, it's quite good. Even though the film is somewhat predictable - think of all those stories with the end at the start - was that giving away too much? And the "superhero" who saves the day (and not just the day, either) And could it be, Neo isn't really "The One" (what, with his powers restricted to being used inside the Matrix - what kind of One is that?)?. There's the niggling feeling that he really isn't the One... you'll just have to see for yourself, I guess. I'm left with one important question, though: how the hell does Morpheus keep his shades on? Please pardon my extremely badly structured review. |

| 144454 | 2003-05-16 05:16:00 | Oh, and just two more things: 1. The rather stupid ending: "TO BE CONCLUDED". How stupid can you get? 2. Overuse of some even stupider things - puns - based around the word "point". You'll have to look out for that one. |
