| 144356 | 2003-05-15 06:19:00 | I am endeavouring to assist a friend who is using a machine with a 433 Mhz processor and running Win98 SE. Problem. He recently received a form of greetings card which required him to click on a hyperlink to access the site and download the completed card. However he had some strife with the exercise and although the card downloaded he now finds that some hypertext links respond and some do not. In addition he cannot get Win98 updates to download. There does not seem to be any particular pattern to those which work and those which do not. He has re-installed both IE 6 and Win98 SE (over the top). I feel that there may be a file like Java script corrupted but an not confident just where to look or what action to take. Otherwise the machine is functioning very well and we are reluctant to reformat etc. System tool - files has been run and all reported O.K. Can anyone assist. |
