| 144594 | 2003-05-15 12:37:00 | When I had Win 98, after pressing shutdown my PC would power off automatically. Few days ago I upgraded to XP on the same PC, when I go start/turn off computer/turn off, it shuts windows down, but PC is still powered, fan still going till I physically switch it off by pressing the button. Is there a hidden setting I could adjust to shut windows and power PC off at one go ???? Thanks - Mark |

Right-Click on your desktop and choose Properties Click on the Screen Saver Tab, and click the Power Managerment button down the bottom (Or get into Power Options thru the Control Panel). There should be a tab up the top for APM, click that and put a tick in the box that wants to enable it. While you're there, have a look at Hibernation! Hope this helps Cheers Chill. |
