if you're running either Office 2000 or Office XP there's a smart little program in there called Microsoft Script Editor and it does wonders for WYSIWYG type html editing (amongst other things). Most of the sites I've done have been done in MSE. Has all the extras like syntax highlighting, code view, design view and page previews.

You might need to a custom install of Office for it to be installed though (I cant' remember, it's been a while since I used it).

144856 2003-05-16 23:34:00 > No seriously, notepad is perfect .

Notepad is good, sure . I learnt HTML using Notepad but these HTML editors (not referring to WYSIWYG BTW) sure make life a lot easier with their colour coding and quick insertion of tags instead of having to type them out all the time or copy and paste . Don't forget the colour pickers, search and replace and table insertion features either, they are so useful .

Thanks for that tip about MS Office Mike, I will look into that one . It is nice to get your money's worth out of something you paid good cash for . ;-)

144857 2003-05-17 00:04:00 thx whetu i like your stlye :)

i normally use notepad but an editor is easier to work out color codes, quick preview, and have a few repair/fixit tools. only problem is finding an editor that actually sticks to the standards. a lot tend to use incorrect/proprietary tags :(
