144837 2003-05-16 12:13:00 How can you forward giffs (animated cartoons/smileys) in their original form.
When i send it over to someone elses address, all they get is "Red Crosses"
in place of animated objects
Is it their software that is not correctly displaying it or do i have to
configure my outlook express to get it right.

Cheers

144838 2003-05-16 12:38:00 You need to insert the .gif file as a picture, not as an attachment. The message will need to be sent as HTML rather than as text otherwise you will not have the option to insert as a picture. Susan B (19)
144839 2003-05-16 12:42:00 Good question, which has been addressed on this forum before. Suggest you look at the FAQ's, and/or get your recipient to.

Basically I suspect that your recipient of the image needs to reconfigure their viewer options.

Give us more info, and we should be able to provide more answers.

Um, Susie Bee - you sure that's right? Whether the message is sent as html, text or otherwise doesn't affect how the attachment is transmitted. Perhaps whether it's "inline" would make more of a difference?

144841 2003-05-16 13:26:00 Well I just went into OE to have a look and my settings are to send emails as text so the option to insert a picture was unavailable. When I change it to Rich Text/HTML then I can insert the picture.

I was playing around with that today and it does make a big difference. I found that if it is sent as an attachment it will not always show up in the message body but if inserted as a picture it will. And that is in Eudora as well as OE.

144842 2003-05-17 00:22:00 dunno about you guys but i prefer to send a text message with the pic as an attachment. they can then open the pic with whatever veiwer/editor they like. tweak'e (174)
