| 145315 | 2003-05-18 00:05:00 | My daughter has a Mitac p233 that she purchased from the uni admin where she is studying. We got it home and formatted then installed w98. Everything was running ok for ages, then she finds that when booting a message comes up just after 'Verifying DMA pool data' which says 'Disk I/O error. Replace disk then press any key'. Also, while it is doing this you can hear a ticking sound like it is doing a ram count. It makes this sound repeatedly. That's as far as it gets. Any help appreciated thanx. |
