145260 2003-05-17 14:04:00 Ok
In the "computers near me" I can see the pc itself listed & also my laptop that I am networked to, but when I click on the laptop it come up with somthing like "path could not be found".
PC win2k
Laptop win98
& on top of that the laptop can't find any computers.

I guess I'm having a comunication problem!!!

145261 2003-05-17 14:05:00 Oh by the way this is a direct cable connection. Ron Bakker (356)
145262 2003-05-17 20:54:00 Direct Cable Connection...

Well, you're not looking at your connections for a starters by going through there, rather looking at the computers within the same Workgroup.

Try clicking 'View All connections' in Control Panel :-)

145263 2003-05-17 21:46:00 Do you mean network & dial up connection, cause I can't see view all connections. Ron Bakker (356)
145264 2003-05-17 21:57:00 hmm........not too sure about direct cable connection as I've never used it but with a standard crossover network connection I'd definitely suggest that unless you are wanting to share the internet conection too then you use 'NETBUEI' as the protocol as it's VERY easy to use drcspy (146)
