| 1337884 | 2013-04-21 21:36:00 | This is a bit of an odd one - on Friday, I think, one of my Win7 Pro x64 PCs suddenly stopped searching programs in the start menu - so if I hit the windows key, and type in word, for example, word (or anything related on the start menu) won't come up, however it still searches control panel items, which seems to render most of the fixes I can find online hopeless. I can still view all the programs in the start menu and open them no issues. The search programs and start menu box in the start menu properties is ticked. The only thing I can think that I might have done around the same time is create a fresh user profile, and I think the start menu was totally empty on this profile for some reason, I didn't link the two up until I was typing this. Any ideas? I can try a system restore, too. |
