1337700 2013-04-20 06:23:00 I am looking at my upgrading compaq CQ57-307TU laptop. All the laptop is used for is internet and email. Would like to upgrade to Windows 8, more ram and a SSD.

Any thoughts on what I should do?

1337701 2013-04-20 06:37:00 Celeron? Yeah I wouldn't bother spending too much money on that to be honest. Alex B (15479)

1337703 2013-04-20 07:11:00 How much memory do you have?

SSD will be most noticeable.
People really exaggerate the benefits of having more memory, especially if you have more than 2gb. Look at your usage and see how much you are using.

Meh. If if he is happy with it why not? Cheaper than buying a new laptop.

Keep an eye out on how much you use. If you can spare the change get more, but after the SSD, IMO.
But at the end of it you're looking at something like 200$.

Have read somewhere that 8GB is the maximum that my laptop can take. Any particular brand of SSD to avoid?
