| 1311935 | 2012-11-12 00:42:00 | Seems quite funny if you ask me, my initial impressions are that hes simply a disgruntled employee. Considering we have no way of knowing if it's a "work laptop" or not, and considering he then took him to a hotel and paid for him for the night, sounds legit? Then there's the gun charges. A lot of places have guns around their home. My parents have guns at their home, however you're legally required to store the guns and ammunition independently etc which is no immediate threat to anybody. Seems like there's two sides ot this story. Kims side, the other side, and then the truth. As for Megaupload and paying for users to upload stuff? Seems just like YouTube to me. If you get enough views, you also get paid for the video. I dunno about his older stuff, never really followed it. Seems like he's more of a family man since coming to NZ (That *is* why he came here after all, a good, safe place to raise a family). People change, and grow up a bit when they have a family. Still, if you've got a lot of money, why not live the high life? So many people here get caught up in Tall Poppy Syndrome. He's got some big bucks, why not let him spend $600K on a fireworks display for us to enjoy? I for one won't be complaining! |

| 1311942 | 2012-11-12 04:10:00 | No need to get personal guys. I'm with nerd89 / paulw, seems like they really just wanted to focus on the negative aspects to make mass appeal. There was no mention of his philanthropy work, no mention of the fireworks display, no mention around what NZ or the USA actaully sees as legal or not in terms of how the business was operating, no mention into him looking to reboot the Pacific Fibre Project, no mention about what he actually alludes to in any of his music videos about Hollywood vs Politics, no mention about the recent me.ga domain being overturned by the Gabon government.... It really was just a "Lets see if we can dig some dirt and make a 20 minute episode out of it". C'mon, my first thoughts on the first guy they interviewed was "Disgruntled employee wants to throw a hissy and get back at his former employer". You thought differently? You thought the whole thing was objective? I thought the two NBR articles were surprisingly objective, have a read of those! I thought that Campbell Live has done much better interviews in the past too! |
