Problem has been there since new.
I have changed the graphics card (and driver), but not because of this problem, but still there regardless. Will Swap RAM tomorrow.
If no fix will reformat and reinstall everything

If the contents have to be right, like addresses which the system is using, or compressed files which are being decompressed (like when installing an OS), the flakey locations start to show. :D

145518 2003-05-19 02:00:00 If you are having to lower ram timings, does that not suggest you are overclocking your RAM which could be a source of errors?

What about running at standard settings?

145519 2003-05-19 03:18:00 From the symptoms you described, I would suspect that it is the Power Supply giving you the problem. I personally have encountered a very similar problem with a PC and after changing the PS, everything went sweet.

If you can get hold of a 'known good' PS, swap it and see what happens.

Good luck.

Uh....no,tweaking the ram timing is not overclocking anything, just letting the reigns off a little bit.It would be called optimising rather then overclocking. My cheap ram failing is an indication of.........cheap nasty ram.

heres an excellent bios guide if more info is needed

145521 2003-05-19 06:51:00 Hang on... I thought lowering CAS timings etc, meant pushing the ram harder??

Alright... optimising, overclocking... I think we're going to be arguing semantics when we both agree about the general meaning! Either way, I guess unless you have some Corsair, Mushkin etc ram then best to leave it running at its 'unoptimised' speed...? ;)
