when i send emails, i dont know how..but seems like automatically..it adds

_______@xtra.co.nz.qbigmail
or ______@hotmail.com.qbigmail

wheres that .qbigmail coming from?
its stopping me from emailing people

i did a adaware scan incase spyware but no..nortons hasnt detected anything lately too

145645 2003-05-18 23:38:00 Only a guess, but I'd say you've been overtaken by a mass mailing program of some sort.
Go into OE > Tools > Accounts > Properties > Servers & see if any changes have been made to you POP3 & SMTP settings
POP3 should be: pop3.xtra.co.nz
SMTP should be: smtp.xtra.co.nz

As for hotmail I don't know what the settings are for that

Did you do a spybot as well? The only related thing it might be is Quik Bigmail (bigmail.quik.com) - though what the hijack is I don't know. Definitely do a Spybot scan and see if there are any dodgy registry changes.

145648 2003-05-19 00:56:00 well my ISP is quik internet
and my pop is pop3.quik.co.nz and stmp.quik.co.nz
its been like that for a year...havent changed it or anything
why is it happening all of a sudden?

pop3.xtra.co.nz and smtp.xtra.co.nz are the same IP so it doesn't matter if one or the other is setup as smtp as it's the port it uses that counts not the name in this case as both resolve to the same IP.

145650 2003-05-19 01:03:00 Sounds like a domain has been set on your ISP connection. Check those settings to see if qbigmail is there. If so, remove it. Kame (312)
145651 2003-05-19 01:56:00 now i cant even receive or send emails until i use their webmail system

145652 2003-05-19 02:57:00 Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity. Account: 'Chris Sinclair', Server: 'pop3.quik.co.nz', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F
