Last night you mentioned some emails from "Microsoft" that you had received and opened. Well, yesterday I got a email "Cool screensaver" from "support@microsoft.com" with an attachment named screen_doc.pif and the message: "All information is in the attached file." Is this the one that you got? My updated AVG today detected this as a virus, I-Worm/Palyh.A which sends itself to all the people in your address book so that could be where I got it from. Don't panic though, it is not a really bad one. Make sure you have the latest updates to AVG (if that is your AV) and do a scan. You could also go to Symantec for information and their removal tool here (securityresponse.symantec.com) if you wish. |

| 145810 | 2003-05-21 01:42:00 | yes i did delete them all and did a system check but.... i also had to do a worm search and destroy with the symatec program and it found 3 infected files and 2 registry changes so its all fixed now. LOL I had WORMS !!!!! LOL i was certain i had not opened them because my virus checker had gone off when one came in and i had about 8 of those emails over the last 48 hours, and since i didnt reply or bounce, just deleted they dried up. i checked by properties, i dont think i opened any. at least i dont remeber opening them. we (Stu off PF1 helped) found the information and worked out what it was and had set the symatec program working before Susan B's last post so i was actually onto it for once, must be learning something from PF1 to be more vigilant. but AVG did not find it and i updated yesterday and did 2 checks on my system. actually it was the TC monitor (the cleaner) that found it, which the trial has since run out......LOL thanks Susan and Stu saved again. thanks all beetle |
