| 146305 | 2003-05-21 10:13:00 | I am fixing up a mates PC which has only got a 1g drive with 32MB of ram running win 95, which version of explorer would suit this PC and where could I down load it from, at present he has version 2 (4.40.516). I find it suffers from old age when surfing some sites, Any help appreciated, John r. |

| 146308 | 2003-05-21 10:28:00 | Your limited to maximum of Internet Explorer 5.5. Although, I think there are other "makes" of browser that will be lighter and faster. Such as opera and mozilla. | Pheonix (280) | ||
| 146309 | 2003-05-21 10:39:00 | IE5.5sp2 is the highest you can go. 5.01sp2 is a good alternative. i prefer opera myself as its smaller and as fast. however some **** program/games/apps require IE to be installed for them to install/work. if you really want to speed it up and cut down on size, uninstall IE straight after windows install. you will lose the "intergration" features and gain some speed. of course you will lose a few features. |
