| 146194 | 2003-05-21 05:04:00 | the os is win98 se, in windows explorer i can often see additional "shadow" drives for C HDD or totally new drive W. What does it indicate? the computer (amd duron 1.1, ram 256) has just been reloaded from scratch and it was doing before too. | andrzej (3843) | ||

Try rephrasing your problem for our limited imaginations. ;-) (The fdisk question ... use "FDISK /STATUS" from DOS. What does that show? Though I don't think partitioning is the problem). |

| 146198 | 2003-05-25 03:47:00 | If your hard disk is compressed (using DriveSpace or DoubleSpace) it will create a second "host" drive that is visible in Windows - I don't think people use that utility these days with the size and price of modern hard drives. Was a good util with my old 162MB HDD running DOS 6.2 & Win 3.11 :D Need more info! |
