I knew there was a problem with paper multiple feeding with HP 6L printers. It started to happen to mine, so found from www.hp.com where I could order a separation pad. Ordered it and it arrived 10 days later with a return address of Hartlepool, UK. Into my 6L went the sturdy cardboard tool, it left the separation pad no problem. My little 6L is a joy to use again. |

And what did that end up costing , if I may be so bold to ask? |

Yes you can be bold, absolutely FREE. I think there was some sort of court case in Amercia about the problem and free separation pads was the outcome. |

There is a seller on Trademe (http://www.trademe.co.nz) (search for "6L separation pads " that sells a set of 3 separation pads and a replacement pickup roller for the 5L / 6L printer for $25. Replacing the pads cures the 'multi feed' problem, and replacing the roller fixes the 'no feed 'problem. It is a bit of a battle to disassemble and fit the parts compared to the 'quick stick' solution that HP are giving away. The HP cardboard pad inserter simply sticks a new pad on top of the center old one - seems to work ok, but there are two other pads as well. |

Ohhh cool. Many thanks for posting this. It doesn't affect me, but I know of someone that will be delighted. |

Yes I saw that on TradeMe. If I get another year or even 2 out of my printer with this freebie from HP, I will be happy My printer has not missed a beat over the years - it owes me nothing. |
