Anyone know if all laptops are essentially manufactured by 2 or3 companies? If so why are some reputably more reliable than others? I must record my astonishment at how helpful you all are. Excellent. |

| 146193 | 2003-06-06 05:27:00 | i do remember reading that 90 percent of the worlds laptops come from 3 companies, but the other 10 percent are made up of couple dozen other companies. Just one thing ive noticed about laptops,You pay for size,Glancing thru the dell catologe The more expensive models had lower specs then some of the cheaper ones but they were lighter and slimmer. Thats in the 4000-6000 dollar bracket though. We recently settled on a toshiba model,Dont know the exact model off hand but it was just on 4 grand, which imo was complete overkill,The user is very happy with the machine but a $2000 model would have done them just as well. And for some strange reason no matter have stongly i insisted i was right i was overruled in this case. .................................................. .......HA |
