146626 2003-05-23 02:13:00 This usually happens when u have a faulty and unstable hard-drive, but i not saying it is definetly the hard drive that is causing the problem, also it might be that your cpu gets too hot, when the cpu get too hot it automatically restarts the computer in order to protect its self, especially if u have a athlon or duron cpu.

but i don't really think that the cpu getting too hot is the cause of the problem because if it is the problem then the computer will often restart during game play.

these are the two culprts that i could think of, there certainly might be other causes.

hope u find that usefuk

Hi Ron

Let the disk check run to conclusion then chose an option to either delete the cross linked cluster or save the data to file . Either way will get rid of the message . It isn't serious, it is just Windows way of telling you that a file is linked to two different location addresses .

Alternatively you could try to delete the file named but it might be a bit problematic if it is cross-linked .

I don't use XP so I can't be more specific about the options you will see .

146628 2003-05-23 03:19:00 Hi Billy T Thanks for the help and I could also use Restore to go back to a time before I had this problem Reguards Ron norrol (2154)
146629 2003-05-23 04:47:00 That restore probably won't help until the crosslinked problem has been fixed. It was caused by a crash while writing to the disk (that install :_|), and it means that the file structure is faulty. Graham L (2)
