| 146607 | 2003-05-22 14:54:00 | Just got a epson stylus colour 300 printer and it wont print, i am getting power fine, the paper goes through it makes all the noises right like its printing, it has colour ink in there, indicator on the onscreen says 3/4 full but no ink is going onto the paper, any help would be appreciated. | lisamarieo1 (301) | ||
| 146608 | 2003-05-22 15:20:00 | Are u sure the ink cartridge is full? The indicator that comes up on your screen can sometimes lead you astray! If your sure the cartridge has ink in it, or its full, then go through the process of replacing the ink cartridge, using the Epson utility. That should reset the display indicator and hopefully solve your problem... |

| 146609 | 2003-05-22 20:13:00 | Where did this printer come from? If it has been sitting around for a while then chances are that the ink nozzles are blocked. I have heard of methods for unblocking (including soaking in warm soapy water) but I would be inclined to buy a new cartridge and start again. sam m |

| 146610 | 2003-05-22 20:14:00 | The Epson ink level indicator especially on the older models is known not to be that accurate. I would suggest getting a replacement cartridge and trying that, the older Epsons you should depending on where you live, you should be able to get after market cartridges of the 300 if you want to go that way. The older Epsons such as the 300 and 400's have the heads built into the printer rather than the cartridge so prolonged dry printing will not be good for them. I came across the same problem only yesterday afternoon but in a HP printer, would go through all the motions and spit out the paper but it was in reality out of ink, a replacement cartridge and it was up and running. |

| 146611 | 2003-05-22 22:42:00 | I also had a 300 with the same problem - no new cartridge would fix it - because it had been 'sitting' for quite a while I found that the jets were blocked - cant re-call at the moment how I took them out - but when I put everything back together Hey presto - good as new. | Nomad1 (3546) | ||
