146833 2003-05-24 10:56:00 Wow, Billy, what an outburst? I know better than most that there are people on this forum who’s postings are not helpful (Find one under my name and you win a chocolate tulip.) But to point the finger at Baldy is particularly unfair. I have seen him being helpful on all matters of problems here, and considering he is a comparative newbie compared to a lot of you IT guru’s I am often amazed at his knowledge. And why has he just won a prize if not for helping people? I am sure he would not have even been considered if the Press F1 Gods shared your opinion.

Many people (including myself) welcome Baldy's humorous antics in Press F1. Besides, this is not the first time you have personally attacked Baldy lately linking him with Thomas for some reason best known only to your good self. Go pick on someone else! :|

Note to Mrs. T.
I suggest you start adding a little camomile to Mr. T’s tea. Works wonders!

This person might be talking about forum software, because I know you have to pay for some off them e.g. vBulletin

146836 2003-05-24 11:28:00 You people need to get out more.

Or maybe you just have small minds.

Cyberchuck?.......What is that rambling nonsence?...what utter rubbish.

I was wrong in the other thread,Its not the software making a mockery of this forum, its the users thinking they are the mutts.

Get a friggen life.

146837 2003-05-24 11:47:00 I guess we each have needs to achieve what we desire .

Personally let me apologise for my own bad spelling as its not a strong point of mine . I hope though you can realise I come here for tech talk rather than showing my poor english .

I'm no expert on the world . Infact I assume we all have flaws so that I assume is a given .

I feel myself that insulting someone is probably in my own opinion a way I usually avoid as I want to focus on the issue not on personal hate when possible [Although see above] .

I am not sure why this all started, this convo etc . I did myself suggest the possibility of the message forum to include a filter for the ability to sort what questions had been answered . Sorry for those who felt that may have been nagging it was more a suggestion for improvement .

On some of the statements here I agree that nagging may be bad or good and I am sure we each have our own opinions .

Is it personal attacks that are important? do they help? or do they just build more remorse and hate .

I am no expert on anything as I said just before, but maybe we can stick to issues of technical matters, which perhaps correlates to this being 'pc world' rather than personal discrimination?

May I add that if you do reply to this, please try to not to attack me personally verbally etc and I will do my best to return the favour .

146838 2003-05-24 12:59:00 from the movie Labyrinth (1986)

Hoggle: This is an oubliette, labyrinth's full of 'em.
Sarah: Oh, I didn't know that.
Hoggle: Oh don't act so smart. You don't even know what an oubliette is.
Sarah: Do you?
Hoggle: Yes. It's a place you put people... to forget about 'em!

More of a straight "oo-blee-ett", I think. From the verb oublier, to forget. Which was what you did after you had put your prisoner there. You didn't last long in an oubliette.

Good to see someone with a sense of humour, even if somewhat on the darkside.

146842 2003-05-24 23:18:00 A funny thing happened on the way to the forum . . . a few true colours emerged . . .

You know what is really great? Not being emotionally attached to PressF1; having a LIFE away from the keyboard; enjoying interactions with people that I can see, smell, touch and korero with kanohi ki te kanohi . However, it is 'fun' to watch the garbage erupt in a forum like this (not that I have seen it happen elsewhere) . It must be difficult creating an on-line persona and trying to stick to it . . . the rot must set in at some stage . . . and gosh . . . it has . . . personal abuse, those jumping in to support some of the abusers, etc . Billy T attempted to 'take down' another poster who made a comment about the preciousness of regular posters (can't be bothered looking for the thread) . . . and continues to . . .

There is a distinct impression that has been present for quite some time, and growing - that there are those who are self-appointed 'heads of the forum' who for various reasons are suffering greatly from "founders symdrome" and who appear to have an obsessive compulsion to "solve" problems posted here, even when they are as banal as "what colour shall I paint a building" . . . If a handful of you had your own way, you would have IDG block those that you take exception to and be further on your way to making Pf1 your own members only club . Stick with CF1 if that is what you want .

Perhaps some of you should depart for a while, and come back when you grow up and remember what the forum was developed for .

However, for entertainment value, it's quite hilarious and morbidly fascinating at the same time, when you are an innocent bystander . . . try it sometime . . . also . . . get outside more . . . spend time with your families . . . get some counselling and medication for your obsessive compulsive disorder . Let the flames begin . . .
