146886 2003-05-23 09:31:00 I've been copying a few vinyl LPs to hard drive and then burning to CD. The stereo has a 'bass boost' thingee which we usually leave on and it has been left on when copying. My question is does anyone know if I will I get a better quality CD in the end if I leave the bass boost on or should I turn it off before copying from vinyl?

Oh. For the record...there is no 'Line Out' on the stereo so I bought a $16 cable and hooked up the earphones outlet to the sound card and did the copying using RipVinyl from the last PC World CD. Works like a charm!

It is not the best copying from the headphone outlet, but if you have no other option and the results suit your ears, then why not?

Cheers
