147209 2003-05-24 11:37:00 Hi I have been using CuteFTP to update my website, but the trial has expired and none of the cracks on the net seem to work :O :p

Anyway so whats a cool, free, easy to use FTP program I can use to upload files/pages to my site?

Don't dare suggest frontpage anyone B-)

It is freeware (and contains no spyware or ads) and works well for me - also has a 4 cow rating from Tucows.

147212 2003-05-24 12:07:00 Hi
I use Coffeecup free FTP and find it easy to use and it is reliable. I have used Cuteftp and think that Coffeecup is just as good.

Find Coffeecup on www.download.com

I hope you were joking about cracking Cuteftp

147214 2003-05-24 16:06:00 I use GFTP these days, but if you insist on sticking with 'doze, i think you'll find WS_FTP is a reliable workhorse.

147215 2003-05-24 23:30:00 I very much like WS_FTP LE, which is the free version. Will have to try some of the others mentioned though, to see if they are better. :-) Susan B (19)
147216 2003-05-25 00:29:00 So what one do you think would best be suited for a beginner?? (very beginner!) Bambi (1486)
147217 2003-05-25 00:47:00 Bambi,
If you can use 2 file browsers side by side, you can use WS_FTP

It is as simple as selecting a file in the lefthand window (local) and pushing the "-->" button to upload it to the server, or selecting a file in the righthand window (server) and pressing the "<--" button to download it to your local machine.

147218 2003-05-25 00:56:00 Well the easiest way is probably to just use explorer.

Though definitely not what I'd recommend.
