| 146961 | 2003-05-24 04:25:00 | It's a line permanently wired between your sites. I doubt if Telecom would provide one now. There are better ways of doing this. You are paying whether or not you are using it. You would be better off just dialling up locally, or using ADSL (or dialup) and Internet over long distances. In the 80s I had to investigate this as a way around a problem. It would have cost quite a lot (priced per kilometre per fortnight). I suspect it would have guaranteed 9600 baud (rather than 2400 baud) which was a real factor then. |

They cost $80 per month each then for those in the local exchange district, up to $700 per month for a cross exchange boundary area. Probably not available now, and not needed as Data circuits are so much cheaper. |
