| 147648 | 2003-05-26 09:37:00 | Hi there! I am currently running Windows 98 SE and am quite good with computers. I am interested in having a go at running Linux on my machine, but I only have 32 mb RAM and a tiny 2.3 GB HDD. Could anyone tell me whether or not I should try using Linux, and where would I find a good installation which would work on my low-spec machine. | Brainer (3478) | ||

Ive run RedHat 8 on a P120 with 16MB RAM and it went fine.. Most RedHat installs I do take up around 1.3 gigs, so that's a gig left to play around. Any install should work.. Id suggest RedHat though (As I always do :p) It will be 'slow' but it will be fine... If you're just wanting to use it for most desktop purposes (Email, desktop publishing etc.) then you should be fine. Grab a copy, and have a go IMHO! |
