147333 2003-05-25 05:30:00 Reloaded WIN XP Home & access is denied to a folder on the d: drive now. File system is NTFS. Have looked for answers at technet, but these only relate to WIN XP PRO permissions etc.

So what the hell do I do to gain access to this folder again.

147334 2003-05-25 05:40:00 Ok, go to "Folder Options" (in a explorer folder windows - Tools - Folder Options) Go to View - "Use simple file sharing" trun it off! Then go to the drive, go the Permissions tab, click on Advanced - Then Owner and my yourself the owner and give yourself all permissions. :) Should work! JamesStewart (874)

147336 2003-05-25 06:52:00 This ms article "may" hopefully help you get the security tab so you can do it (Take ownership of the Folder) in xp home? Sorry i can't try it cause i use xp pro now.

I think you can go into safe mode and do it from there the same way as PRO
