148303 2003-05-29 09:06:00 Has Telecom taken the plunge and upped JetStart plan?

Looks like it to me as I am getting 32 - 36KBytes/Sec both ways tonight which would indicate it is.

148304 2003-05-29 09:19:00 Hi Big John

Hmmm, I am not sure about that, at the moment, I still only 15-17kbps just now...

but if telecom really up the speed to 256kb, i think they would notify every user by email i guess...

so perhaps we just have to wait until it is official...

148305 2003-05-29 09:20:00 I hope it is true. 128K is just too slow for some things. flyer590 (2523)
148306 2003-05-29 10:05:00 Depends on what program you are using to download with.

Internet Explorer displays an incorrect download speed, which leads you on to believe you are getting a faster speed than you actually are.

Wheres a speed test page or something?

148308 2003-05-29 10:15:00 Downloading latest AV update file, get 15.7 KB/s average.
That perfectly standard, so Xtra have not changed their settings for me anyway.

148309 2003-05-29 10:18:00 Jetstreamgames/speed (www.jetstreamgames.co.nz) = "Your line speed is approximately 130.6 Kbps or 16 K bytes/sec"
:(

148310 2003-05-29 10:27:00 Jetstart + Ihug is giving me an average of 13 K bytes/sec download & upload speed (measured using a FTP program). Nothing flash there :(

Can't complain tho - still miles better than on dial up :D
