| 148314 | 2003-05-29 11:52:00 | whatever bootylicios. You just said that you can download at 25Megabytes a sec. What type of adsl modem are you using for this? The current adsl standard is set at a maxiumum of 8MegaBits per sec which is about 1megabyte a sec. |

| 148316 | 2003-05-29 12:36:00 | some interesting responses... this is a quirk of the ADSL service - Every so often it goes "uncapped" and users can enjoy full speed, the limitation being their line. When I was living with my parents we had a full 7.6meg connection for 3 days after hooking up with Ihug (my old man is a telecommunications engineer - we spent a day overhauling the phone cabling and got the lines' capability from 4meg up to 7.6... definately not bad for a semi-rural area) Hell even here at my flat we were uncapped for a couple of days after lining up with inspire. 5.5Meg capability here. Two nights ago I was downloading nationally at 360k off another lucky inspire customer who was uncapped... It happens, enjoy it while it lasts. You normally dont get charged for it, but remember - it's not going to stay that way forever, so go nuts while its there! |

| 148319 | 2003-05-29 22:43:00 | from day one I had adsl . exceptions: my maxium speed is about 3 . 5 MBs . I only get that speed when I switch to the jetstream gaming domain . the happy moment came when I downloaded Redhat 8 . 0 iso images from js ftp, about 25 minutes per disc . But I can't reproduce the luck with RH9 . 0 . |

Nope, its gone back down to 15KB/sec today. It was good while it lasted but I guess they have not dont it yet. |
