| 148528 | 2003-05-31 06:28:00 | Getting back to the topic. 1. In most casesClone CD can not backup up your legal copy of software if it has secure rom protection unless you use twinpeaks, and even than it is problematic. 2. Clony is useful for both Clone Cd, Alchohol as it tells you what protection is used on disc and you can enter this when you write disc. 3. Both clony and alcohol have virtual drives and if you really want to protect your original disc you can use this. Alcohol is better because again it can defeat securerom 4.8, but you will need to make sure you have plenty of spare disc space. Alcohol will play images made from Clone CD. 4. Again if you are just wanting to protect your disc, it is just as effective to crack the software by changing the exec file, cracks are readily available on the net. Make sure you keep the originals in a different folder so that you can switch them when an updated patch is release. I have purchased both Clone CD and Alcohol120 and find Alchol much better. However, I really think using cracks are the best option for backing up software. |

| 148529 | 2003-06-01 01:31:00 | ok . . . before you throw out your HP9100 writer, download Clony XXL from here ( . softnews . ro/public/cat/3/3/3-3-10 . shtml" target="_blank">www . softnews . ro) . . . it's located on the right of the screen with a download link to select . Make sure also to download an evaluation copy of Alcohol 120% from here ( . alcohol-software . com/download . php" target="_blank">www . alcohol-software . com) . You must supply your email address to be able to download . Next step, install Alcohol 120% and ClonyXXL, although I think ClonyXXL is just a small executable file . Anyway, make sure ClonyXXL is in English, otherwise it will be hard to understand . Select the drive the disc is in, and press the ScanCD button . This will give you the type of copy protection used on the disc . Once you have this, close ClonyXXL and open Alcohol120% . The HP9100 is a "one-sheep recorder" . . sounds strange? Well, you will need to read [url=http://clone . cd/phpBB2/viewtopic . php?t=583]this thread[/url FULLY to understand how to adjust to the correct settings in Alcohol 120% . Select 'copy wizard' from the left hand menu . Under the popup with 'datatype,' select the corresponding copy protection and then press next . Follow the steps, and ensure that you select the 'delete image upon successful burn' option once you finish . Hope it helps . Lo . |
