1338904 2013-04-29 22:32:00 My sisters looking for a laptop for university. She want's something smaller than my laptop (15.6in) but bigger than my parents tablet (10in). I'm thinking around 13.3. Being the fussy thing she is :D - Windows 7 not 8 if at all possible, and computer + MS Office 2013 for under $1100. Any ideas? Nick G (16709)

For the Office - you can get it via a MS download link which you use your uni email address to auth. yourself to get the tertiary price deal, need to burn yourself that EXE file on CD though. Likely to be cheaper than the Home/Office edition.

Thanks, I'll show those to her. Not too sure if she'll be comfortable buying from an online store, worth a shot though.

Ok, thanks. Think the HP will be pushing her budget a little, but the VIO is good - will take here to a store and see whether 13.3 or 14inch laptops are 'better'.

Could be a better deal if you will be wanting to install on more than one device or to upgrade after 4 years as the packaging for this says I user - 2 PC's - 4 year subscription.

At least with Home and Student you own it forever - no more payments. There are still people and organisations using Office XP and 2003 so a 4 year sub wouldn't work for them.

1338913 2013-04-30 11:57:00 Didn't uni students used to be able to get a copy of Office Pro Academic for under $100? Have they retired that in favour of 365? Greven (91)
