1313359 2012-11-19 01:36:00 I have about 18 mini cassettes from an 1970s dictaphone.
( Philips 8935 000 20002). These mini tapes are slightly bigger than what they appear to use in current models.*
I would like to get them onto a current digital format but searching those providing a transcribing service appear to charge from $30 to $50 per tape! $500+ *ya have to be joking.
Ok so any ideas as to where *can I get my hands on one of those 1970s *type dictaphones?!
Thanks

Could explain why it was so cheap. Quite dear for a piece of paper though. :o

1313366 2012-11-19 06:08:00 Can you wind the spools onto a conventional, current day cassette?
How does the tape width compare with now?

1313367 2012-11-19 08:38:00 I found one of those phillips dictation machines around 1974 dumped on a street near our home. Got a small reward from ownner after handing to the police.

Anyway here's a UK vintage radio (www.vintage-radio.net) forum thread, that appears similar to your needs with image links. If it's for mini cassettes than for micro it appears there are transcribers, that play/record both tape types that may transfer to digital. But seem expensive if it's those models on Amazon (www.amazon.com) and here. (www.officedirectinc.com)

Must be some simple tape to mp3 conveters that can transfer mini cassettes easily to PC.
