Go figure. Agreed although the Aussies already have the coal sitting in the ground. It seems weird that electricity in parts of Australia is cheaper than in NZ. Is that true everywhere in OZ? Is it subsidised? |

(kWh) Clearly, rain water must have increased dramatically in price (when did the Maoris take ownership) for the cost of my electricity to rise 47% from 18.44c per kWh to 27.1c per kWh. I wonder what we can look forward to after the sale of our power providers? |

| 1314436 | 2012-11-25 19:44:00 | I think that the answer is in the demand for electricity. As the demand reduces the fat cats still want their pound of flesh so the cost increases. This is confirmed here www.electricityinfo.co.nz I agree with BM. He has the right answers. |

| 1314438 | 2012-11-25 19:56:00 | I have seen some Aussie forums and they are all moaning about their new high power prices! (And they earn much more than us) |
