1338765 2013-04-29 06:53:00 Just checked this one (www.dicksmith.co.nz) at DSE. Bugger, it costs more than I hoped to pay, and I can't get it until Friday. Woe! :dogeye: Greg (193)
1338766 2013-04-29 06:57:00 The transformer part ( as that's all they basically are - a reducer from 230V down to 9-12V) are generally a sealed unit, this is where the fault will be unless its something like a broken wire in the input lead, or output to the laptop. Does the LED indicator light up ( if it has one). wainuitech (129)
1338767 2013-04-29 07:22:00 Greg, check these guys out www.laptopbattery.co.nz I have used them a couple of times. plod (107)
1338768 2013-04-29 08:44:00 The LED doesn't come on. It's definitly died, mysteriously.

Plod... That site seems ok thanks, but its too hard to view adequately using my mobile. May be good for future reference. I'll have to use Tricky Dickies, mainly cos they do next day free delivery.

Meanwhile I'm trying to set up a friend's lappie, which I happen to have with me to sort out, with my T-stick - the damn software won't auto-install. Grr. I'll next try to tether my phone to it so I might at least get some useable Internet.

1338769 2013-04-29 09:49:00 If you order from laptopbattery make sure it's in stock - I had to wait 4 months for a knockoff Toshiba battery last year. Renegade (16270)
1338770 2013-05-01 04:52:00 I've given Laptopbattery a go after all. Kelvin from there responded to my email last night in good time, I phoned him up and took his advice for the appropriate generic adaptor. He was confident that I'd get the item via courier tomorrow and took my order over the phone. Here's hoping. Greg (193)
1338771 2013-05-01 06:49:00 post how it turns out eh?
As per my topic, I've just ordered a new battery today myself. Seconding the here's hoping bit, though I imagine it'll take a bit longer to get up to auckland.

Sure it is, if you have the knowledge, tools, parts and money.
