1338333 2013-04-24 22:59:00 I am using Win8 and am the only user (and administrator) and should have full admin privileges but keep on getting access denied for a number of processes.

I have lowered the account user security slider to the bottom but still get the denial of access messages. How can I achieve full administrator privileges?

(In Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8, you don't actually have full administrator rights even with an administrator account.)

1338335 2013-04-25 00:45:00 I was trying to save an email (containing username/licence) into a Programs (86) folder on the C drive so as to keep the details for future re-installations if needed. I used to be able to do it in Win7. garyasta (1151)
1338336 2013-04-25 01:15:00 Asking for permission before saving into the Program Files folder is normal behaviour, and I'm not quite sure why Windows 7 didn't... have you tried running the email program as administrator?

Personally I'd be saving those emails into a folder under Documents instead.

1338337 2013-04-25 03:23:00 I opened Windows Live Mail with a R click and "Open as administrator" then tried to save the email to the aforementioned folder without success. garyasta (1151)
