149342 2003-06-03 01:56:00 Hi Folks
Having bitten the bullet and upgraded from Win98SE to XP PRO....
and added all the downloads...here's the first on a number of problems I have yet to resolve.
Any embedded links in Outlook Express messages do not activate when clicked on. A pain, as I receive several overseas newspapers daily and have to click on links to read full articles.
Note though that links on Internet Explorer pages do work.
(As stated, running WIN XP PRO with service pack 1 and Internet Explorer 6 on a 1000 megahertz Intel Pentium 111 on a 30 Gigabyte hard drive.) Your help appreciated.

149343 2003-06-03 02:30:00 Windows Explorer/Tools/Folder Options/File Types. Scroll down to
URL:HyperText Transfer Protocol/Advanced/Edit. Under Application used to perform action it should read:
"C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" -nohome

149345 2003-06-03 05:19:00 Hi Jim B
Ran that through and restored the link for Outlook Express. Many Thanks.

Hi Pheonix
Unfirtunately the link in your reply is an example of non-opening. When I click on your link (or any other in any posting) I simply get a blank Internet Explorer page.
Keep the advice coming people.

149346 2003-06-03 05:45:00 To fix IE hyperlinks

1. Quit all programs that are running.

2. Click Start, and then click Run.

3. Type regsvr32 urlmon.dll, and then click OK.

4. When you receive the "DllRegisterServer in urlmon.dll succeeded" message, click OK.
If this does not resolve the problem, repeat steps 2 through 4 for each of the following files (in step 3, replace Urlmon.dll with each of the file names below):

* Shdocvw.dll

* Msjava.dll

* Actxprxy.dll

* Oleaut32.dll

* Mshtml.dll

* Browseui.dll

* Shell32.dll (Windows XP and Windows 2000 only)

You beauty. The first suggestion re urlmon.dll cracked it. Many thanks.

Pheonix. Thanks too. Was able to link through to that "here" link of yours. Help appreciated.

149348 2003-06-09 06:15:00 Sometimes, it can also happen if u use another browser, (ie: Opera), and set it as the default browser. The hyperlinking disappears, when and if you use Outlook. Another way to fix that, is to set IE as the default browser again, or click on default settings in IE. Spacemannz (808)
