| 149350 | 2003-06-03 01:23:00 | Hi all, :8} looking at buying a new HDD. The one I'm looking at is the Seagate 40G 7200. I need help with the Identification of the HDD as I don't want a Barracuda 1V 40G as I hear (from this forum) that these models have a high failure rate. So I would like the Barracuda V if possible. "Barracuda 7200.7" is this the 1V www.qmb.co.nz (cheap price) Thanks |

Although you'll probably be safe and not get a IV (four) you'll possibly get a newer one which is probably the one they are speaking of 7 (VII), it's just roman numerals for the numbers. | Kame (312) | ||

| 149353 | 2003-06-03 01:43:00 | Call them and find out :P It's the simpliest way, they'll go out back look on the seagate drive and see if it is or not, if it is then you know you don't want that one. |
