149210 2003-06-02 03:37:00 I am currently trying to rebuild a P233MMX with Asus TXP4 mainboard, Asus 3DP-V375DX video with W98. I have purchased a Speedcom+ 56k PCI modem as an alternative to the old 33.6k external. The installation disc has drivers for W98SE onwards. As I don't have the resources to upgrade the OS yet, I am trying to find a driver for W98 but am having little joy or am looking in the wrong places. There seems to be no site of origin on the installation cd, packaging or documentation to go to for assistance.
Whilst here, what OS should I upgrade to? Suggestions welcome with input on the inherent pitfalls. My needs are pretty basic and don't require a lot of bells and whistles.
Thanx everyone for helping in the past too.

149211 2003-06-02 03:44:00 Regards the 98se drivers for the speedcom modem, have you tried these. I would have thought they would have worked with your win98 installation as SE is just improved version of 98.

As for upgrading, if you are staying with your current spec's, I would stay with 98SE.

WindowsME, some hate it, some love it, same as with any OS. Same gos for WinXP.

149212 2003-06-02 04:02:00 If its like mine it uses a conexant chip, and your better off with the generic drivers.

You can get them here:

www.conexant.com

Follow the instructions to find out what type you have before you download them.
